I have been such a slacker lately. I used to call myself an athlete (in the loosest sense of the word, of course) but lately I’m little more than a lazy bum. Actually, no, I’m not lazy as such; life takes over and I’m keen to spend the little free time I do get bonding with my sofa.
The result? The muffin top is way over cooked (see picture - not of me, thankfully!) and the jeans are a wee bit tight, so it’s out with the clingy and in with the baggy clothes at the mo. I need to get back into the fitness groove and will do so in the following ways and for the following reasons:
Ways
Doggy style: Getting a dog. Ralphie the Cocker Spaniel will require regular walking once he’s had his jabs and you can’t walk a dog while sitting in front of the TV on the sofa. And I could never be cruel to animals so there’s the motivation right there.
Army action: Military-style fitness class. They’re running in MK and me and fitness buddy are going to try one out with a view to doing it on a regular basis. It means fresh air, exercise, pain and possibly tears.
Eat no evil: Diet, ie a healthy one. No more late night trips to Tesco for banoffee pie and rocky road. Healthy and balance meals all the way!
The G spot: That’ll be the gym then. At least once a week I will squeeze in a trip to the gym for a stint on the cross trainer and/or a few lengths in the pool.
Reasons
Biffer bride: I’m getting married in December and no one likes a fat bride
Mistaken identity: I don’t want people to shout out “beached whale” when honeymooning in Hawaii or “Yeti!” when honeymooning in New York.
Losing pounds: I’m paying out for the gym every month, the least I can do is go.
Cling on: I want to be able to wear clingy clothes again. My wardrobe’s full of ‘em and it’ll save me buying new ones in a bigger size.
Raring to go: I’ll feel better and lethargy will become a thing of the past. Here’s hoping!
So, the fitness campaign starts straight away… well, after my holiday in a fortnight ;0)
